Decorating a home on a budget can be tough, especially when you'd like to add some color without ripping out carpet or painting walls. We love our home, but you can tell the previous owners did not have children. They installed a beige carpet that just isn't dark enough to handle the destructive forces of my brood, and recently I've been searching for a nice area rug for our lived in living room. I was looking for something bright and colorful to tie together my green sofas and the red walls in my dining room, as well as to be comfortable for kid's play on the floor, and forgiving for the carpet stains and spills that happen when you have children.
One brand in home decor products I've always trusted is Mohawk Home. I've had several of their rugs over their years, and they've always been durable, attractive and high quality enough to stand up to the abuse that happens from my overactive family.
Mohawk Home, the rug division of Mohawk Industries, is the largest manufacturer of area rugs, indoor and outdoor mats, and washable rugs in the United States. One of the foremost manufacturers and distributors of residential and commercial flooring in the world offers a variety of flooring categories, including carpet, ceramic tile, stone, wood and rugs in the United States and laminate in the U.S. and Europe. Mohawk dates its roots to the 1800's when it became one of the first American carpet manufacturers. Today the company is headquartered in Calhoun, Georgia with operations on three continents.
We've been enjoying our new Mohawk rug for a couple weeks now and I love the difference it's made to our living room. We recently received a fantastic area rug from the folks at Mohawk to review, and it's made a great difference in my living room. Check out the before and after photos below (and yes that's my 2 year old throwing a tantrum in the photo!)
